A NYC classic for good reason. Everything tastes like it was made with love from the standard diner fare through to the pierogis, Ukrainian main dishes and soups. The menu has been honed over the years to ensure that there are no duds - everything will be homely and tasty. Recommend the soups, pierogis, stuffed cabbage, and blintzes. Notes about scoring: 1 star = Memorably awful 2 star = Not good and would avoid 3 star = Good but would not return 4 star = Recommended 5 star = Incredible and must visit if you can

I was so excited to check this place out- hit it for breakfast and lunch. The service was spectacular and speedy, the space is very cool and the vibe inside is great, fun and chatty. I immediately trust any business that has complementary jam packets on the table. Breakfast was excellent, their French toast and blintzes were stunners but their blueberry pancakes might've been my favorite. The dinner (that I forgot to photograph) highlights were their vegetarian pierogis and the INCREDIBLE STUFFED CABBAGE with the best mushroom gravy would have taken the Veselka crown if not for the honey cake, which was perfect in every sense of the word. Not too sweet, great depth of flavor and texture. I'd never had it before and I loved it immediately- in fact that sentiment applies to this wonderful establishment as a whole.

I loved the cheese blintzes. The stuffed cabbage was ok. Very light but not sweet and sour the. Borcht was also delicious

We went here on a Thursday at the end of October. We came for an early dinner since we had not had lunch, I think we arrived around 5pm-ish. We were seated immediately at a requested outdoor table. Service was fast, food was ready quickly and was amazing! I had boiled potato Perogies which was served with fried onions and sour cream. My husband had Beef Stroganoff which was a huge and hearty portion. He had a choice of side items and chose sauerkraut. My husband is Ukrainian and said the food reminded him of his childhood and the food his Baba made for him. I would say that's the highest praise a place can get. On a side note...Bathroom was dirty with pee all over the toilet seat and floor. There is one bathroom for both men and women that has 1 toilet and one urinal. That was the single only negative. In the last photo you can see the line that had formed within 30mins of our arrival. The line is all the way down the block!

Visited this location over the weekend. As soon as we arrived the service was so fast and so respectful towards us! The atmosphere was nice and relaxing and nicely decorated with Ukrainian culture, the establishment was very well lit and you could hear the person across the table perfectly. The food arrived very quickly and with great quality, and the beer was nice and cold! We went here for dinner, and I am definitely coming back again to try their breakfast and lunch. This place has really brought back some memories with flavors that reminded me of my grandmother's cooking. They even have menu items that donate a portion to the war efforts over seas! Outstanding job by this establishment! Слава Україні
